MY TWO FAVOURITE THINGS

A while ago I made my gorgeous Mum a cake for her birthday which combined my two favourite things: food and flowers. 

I made a floral wreath using oasis, foliage from the garden and some beautiful red roses. After soaking the oasis I just add the foliage piece by piece until it's covered and then add the flowers. I'm by no means a pro but there are loads of tutorials online like this and this. 

My oasis wreath was the perfect size for a standard cake so I simply popped it on top of my victoria sponge and ta daa! The effect was really dramatic and it's a great way to jazz up a cake without icing. I particularly love it because you can use it as a table decoration after you've eaten the cake so it's like two presents in one! 

This is quite a wintery design but in the summer you could add peonies, pink roses or hydrangeas to make it nice and bright.

LONDON

I haven't been able to post for a few days due to lack of wifi in my new flat but I'm back in London and so happy! I've been enjoying being back in the city and today headed to Borough Market for some lunch. Although it wasn't a full market day, there were still loads of choices for lunch and a dominating view of the Shard. I'm looking forward to exploring London again and can't wait for the start of London Fashion Week. What have you all been up to? 

LONDON'S CALLING

A few months ago I moved to London for University. I've been having such an amazing time here and I am loving every minute; there is always something to do and I'm constantly busy (sorry for the lack of blogging!!). I have always been inspired by other fashion blogs and here are my favourite five...

1) Style Scrapbook 

This blog is run by the beautiful Andy Torres and is always full of fashion inspiration. I love Andy's style and being able to see how her dress sense has developed since she opened the blog. My favourite thing about her style is the quirky and individual edge she has - she never just goes along with the crowd. Find her at stylescrapbook.com.

2) The Blonde Salad

I love this blog because of its DIY page. There are so many inspiring crafts from clothing to jewellery and I love it! If you want some do it yourself motivation you should check out honestlywtf.com.

Summer Loving
