THE UNSEEN

Saturday, 1 August 2015

The Unseen is a brand which fuses science and style. Led by Material Alchemist Lauren Bowker the company works to discover the undiscovered throughout their work. I met with the team behind The Unseen recently and I wanted to share a few of the pieces that I got to see from this truly innovative brand. The majority of the collection is affected by changes in it's environment and surroundings and is typically effected by the elements such as air and heat.

The Unseen team has developed an ink that is reactive to wind and when its environment changes so does its colour creating truly magical pieces which are constantly evolving and highlighting the aspects of our universe that usually go unnoticed. Their product range includes clothing and homewares such as candles and notebooks so the amazing technology is available across a wide selection of items.

Not only is the technology behind the pieces truly incredible but the designs themselves are also beautifully intricate. I have pictured two jackets in this post which feature layering and pattern work which in itself is a work of art. I recommend that you all visit their page and find out more about their amazing and innovative work.

A KISS OF THE ORCHID

Friday, 30 August 2013

AMG fashion is a luxury, unique fashion brand created by Amy Marie Goetz. Amy has been involved in the fashion industry for several years through both modelling and designing - she worked in Miami, New York and LA - and has now set up her own design company. I was really excited to be contacted by Amy and immediately fell in love with her ideas. Above, Amy's recent clutch collection is pictured; these clutches are inspired by the cities of France and I find their uniquely colourful paint pattern enthralling. The other main inspiration for AMG fashion is work by the artist Michael Stervinou and it is his work that inspired Amy's most popular print 'A Kiss of the Orchid'. I love this print's vibrancy and colour and I can immediately see the link between the pattern and art work. Her work evokes luxury, vitality and nonchalance - the perfect combination.

If you love Amy's designs as much as I do click here for her website and here for her facebook to learn more about creativity.

STYLE FOR CHANGE

Monday, 19 August 2013
When I was contacted by Lofthouse Clothing Co. I was really excited to be involved in their project. The new British company has one goal - to make a difference. Every time you buy one of their garments a fixed donation of £2.50 is given to a worthy cause.

Their t-shirts are are focused on bold, contemporary designs that are all printed in the UK - the limited quantity means that the t-shirts are exclusive items. I particularly like the print on this T-shirt below (it reminds me of the artist Georgia O'Keeffe).

The two main causes Lofthouse Clothing is dealing with at the moment are 'The End of Homelessness' and 'No Disaster Ignored'. To read more about these important issues head over to their website www.lofthouseclothing.co.uk and see the amazing work that this innovative company does.

Now you can get an exclusive discount at the Lofthouse Clothing Co. Just enter the code LAWLESS for a 5% discount!

Enjoy and spread the word about this great company!
